East Jakarta Administration holds Balai Pustaka Festival as an effort to preserve the culture and values of local wisdom. Besides displaying various types of arts that exist in the capital city and Indonesia, the festival is also featuring Betawi artists like Mpok Nori, Kubil, and Rita Hamzah.

In the future, this event is expected would able to increase the number of both local and foreign tourist visits.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Tourism Sub-Department, Dedy Soeryadi, informed that at this time there are 795 tourism and culture potentials in the municipality.
“Tourism and culture potentials in East Jakarta are not inferior to (tourism and culture potentials in) other regions. As a matter of fact, we are one of the biggest contributors to PAD (city income) from the perspective of tourism and culture,” he uttered.
